Product Manager | Vendor AI

Job Description

About Ramp

Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.

The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.

We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.

The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.

If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.

About the Role

As the Product Manager for Vendor AI, you will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Ramp’s next generation of AI-powered vendor products—spanning Vendor Management, Price Intelligence, and agentic workflows across sourcing, renewals, and vendor lifecycle operations. You’ll partner closely with engineering, design, data, and cross-functional stakeholders (Procurement, Finance, Legal, Security, CX, Sales) to build intelligent experiences that help customers save money, reduce risk, and eliminate manual vendor work.

This role blends AI-native product development (LLM-powered workflows, evaluation systems, human-in-the-loop design), data-driven vendor intelligence (pricing benchmarks, contract extraction, spend patterns), and workflow orchestration (approvals, renewals, onboarding, policy enforcement). You will define and execute a strategy that turns Ramp’s unique vendor and spend dataset into a compounding product advantage—and reimagine how companies discover, manage, and renegotiate vendors.

Please note that this Product Management role will require you to be comfortable with working in-person at one of our NYC or SF offices at least 2 days/week

What You’ll Do

  • Build products that help finance and procurement teams manage the vendor lifecycle end-to-end (intake → onboarding → paying → managing → renewing/offboarding) with less manual work and more confidence.

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Vendor AI—including Price Intelligence, vendor record intelligence, and agentic automation (e.g., auto-hydrated vendor fields, proactive renewal briefs, vendor policy workflows).

  • Partner with engineering and data science to ship AI systems that are reliable in production: define evaluation methodology, quality metrics, feedback loops, fallbacks, and human-in-the-loop controls.

  • Create “decision moments” inside Ramp—bringing together contract context, benchmarks, spend trends, and recommendations so customers can act quickly (renew/renegotiate/cancel, consolidate vendors, fix risk/compliance gaps).

  • Lead high-velocity execution with a world-class team of engineers and designers—balancing principled product intuition with data, customer feedback, and iteration.

  • Develop deep customer and persona understanding across Finance, Procurement, AP, Legal, and IT/Security—translating pain points into sharp product bets and clear narratives.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment on dependencies and launch readiness (GTM enablement, customer comms, supportability, compliance/legal review).

What You Need

  • BA/BS in a technical or analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or related)

  • Minimum 5 years of product management or adjacent product-building experience.

  • Strong product judgment and first-principles thinking, especially at the intersection of structured data surfaces, analytics, and customer workflows.

  • AI fluency and passion, shown through deep understanding of technical concepts and hands-on experience building, prototyping, or side projects, and staying current on research and tools.

  • Fluency with modern prototyping tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) and comfort with design/collaboration environments like Figma and Git.

  • Fluency in data and experimentation, and understanding when the answer cannot be found in the data

  • Proven ability to lead small, cross-functional teams toward ambitious goals with urgency and agency.

  • Ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences, synthesizing complex systems into compelling narratives.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience building AI-powered products

  • Experience in high-growth startups, especially driving 0→1 products to scale

  • Experience in data products/platforms (metrics layers, data APIs, semantic modeling).

  • Experience building financial products or adjacent tools that require complex systems thinking
