Abnormal Security

Product Manager II, Detection

Job Description

The Opportunity

Abnormal AI is seeking an ambitious, growth-oriented Product Manager II to drive innovation across our AI-native security platform. We assist a wide range of customers, from Global 2000 enterprises to small and medium-sized businesses, in protecting themselves against sophisticated cyberattacks that can cause financial loss and disrupt operations. Our AI-driven approach to email security, account takeover detection, and related security use cases has established us as one of the fastest-growing cybersecurity companies in the world.

This role will concentrate on Detection areas, including attack categorization, campaign consistency, red teaming, and initiatives aimed at enhancing detection efficacy. These efforts will help customers better understand, trust, and respond to sophisticated threats.

As a Product Manager II, you will be responsible for defining the product, gathering customer feedback, and planning the medium-term roadmap for specific areas within Detection Product Management. This position is well-suited for a PM who can effectively deliver results across two or more focused product areas, or across one moderately complex area, while developing a strong understanding of their responsibilities.

You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Product leadership, and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to launch high-quality features, improve consistency across threat surfaces, and deliver measurable customer impact. This is an excellent opportunity for a PM who can navigate customer challenges, technical details, and execution, and who is eager to grow rapidly in a high-ownership, high-autonomy environment.

What You Will Do

  • Own focused product areas and two-quarter roadmap planning. Own product definition for focused areas, synthesize customer feedback and internal inputs, and help shape a medium-term roadmap across two or more confined product surface areas or one moderately complex area in alignment with team and company priorities.
  • Drive discovery informed by customer and market insight. Partner with customers, field teams, and internal stakeholders to understand user needs, product pain points, and emerging opportunities, turning them into clear product hypotheses and prioritized work.
  • Lead cross-functional execution from concept to launch. Partner with Engineering, Design, and Data Science to scope solutions, make tradeoffs, manage timelines, and ensure high-quality launches.
  • Improve detection clarity and consistency across surfaces. Help shape how threats are categorized and grouped into campaigns, and improve consistency across customer-facing surfaces, including Threat Log, Detection 360, and related intelligence experiences.
  • Support red teaming and validation efforts. Contribute to product work that strengthens confidence in detection quality by validating campaign detection and attribution against adversarial patterns and real-world attack behavior.
  • Champion metrics, experimentation, and continuous improvement. Define and track product KPIs, analyze outcomes, and use data-informed iteration to improve product quality, customer value, and business impact.
  • Partner closely with GTM and customer-facing teams. Work with Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Support to ensure successful launches, strong enablement, and tight feedback loops from the field back into the roadmap.
  • Leverage AI and modern tooling for speed and clarity. Use AI-native tools and modern product workflows to accelerate research, documentation, prototyping, and decision-making.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of product management experience, or equivalent experience in a technical role such as software engineering, data/analytics, security operations, technical program management, or solutions engineering.
  • Proven ability to work on technical products and collaborate closely with engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems, define requirements, and drive execution across cross-functional partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use both qualitative and quantitative inputs to make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High ownership, attention to detail, and operational rigor across planning, documentation, and execution.
  • A growth mindset and comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience in enterprise SaaS or B2B environments, especially in security, infrastructure, or platform products.
  • Prior exposure to cybersecurity, detection systems, fraud, trust and safety, or other adversarial domains.
  • Experience working with Engineering and Data Science teams on technical or ML-adjacent products.
  • Familiarity with classification systems, experimentation, model validation, or explainability-oriented workflows.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, analytics platforms, Gong, Salesforce, and modern AI/UX prototyping tools.

Why You’ll Thrive at Abnormal

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy owning meaningful product outcomes and becoming deeply knowledgeable in your areas of ownership.
  • Love working at the intersection of AI, security, and user experience.
  • Want to help shape how customers understand threats through better categorization, campaign consistency, and validation workflows.
  • Value high trust, high autonomy, and the opportunity to grow your product craft quickly.

If you’re excited to build category-defining security products in an AI-native company while growing your impact and scope as a Product Manager, we’d love to talk.
